Michael Cohl has assumed the role of Producer for the reportedly over budget and behind schedule Broadway production of Spiderman that features the music of U2.  Cohl is a novice when it comes to producing a major Broadway musical, but has plenty of experience in the music and concert industries, and the kind of connections it will take to line up backers willing to invest in what will be the most expensive play ever staged.  In addition to being tight with Bono, the former Live Nation chairman has decades of close assciations with dozens of other mega stars. Cohl said a direct appeal from Bono and The Edge led him to agree to take over the $50 million production.
