Clarence Clemons recently added his own inside look to the dozens of books about Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band (story). Speculation that the Boss might take on the challenge of a book himself has the publishing world in a frenzy. Bruce has been an avid journal keeper throughout his career, so he already has plenty of early drafts to draw from. Publishing circle insiders project that a book Bruce has a hand in writing could bring a $10 million advance. Little Brown is said to have awarded Keith Richards a figure close to $8 million for his memoir. If he wants help with the project, Springsteen could call on Rock writer Dave Marsh, the husband of Springsteen co-manager Barbara Carr.
