Rock Hall Honors Janis Joplin

Kozmic Blues: The Life and Music of Janis Joplin got off to an early start at the Rock Hall of Fame in Cleveland with a concert featuring Big Brother & The Holding Company Oct. 29.  The series of events honoring Janis Joplin will close with a tribute concert Nov. 14 involving an unlikely collection of musicians, including Santana's Gregg Rolie, Ray Benson from Asleep At The Wheel, Guy Clark, Nona Hendryx and Lucinda Williams.  During its run the series will feature seminars, movies, and discussions about her impact on music and culture.  A Nov. 11 session including discussion and performance will the hosted by Jorma Kaukonen of the Jefferson Airplane & Hot Tuna. Joplin was inducted to the Hall in 1995.
