Santana disses NFL and CBS over halftime lineup

Carlos Santana took to his Facebook page to express his disappointment that no Bay area musicians were invited to perform during halftime at the Super Bowl.  The guitarist, who did get a slot to deliver some firey riffs for television viewers of the game, wrote, 'I would like to take this opportunity to thank you both (NFL & CBS) for including me as a part of your Super Bowl entertainment. I do feel compelled to point out to you that the halftime show should have included some of the local iconic bands that the world would have loved to see perform. Bands like Metallica, Steve Miller, Journey and yours truly.' Metallica did perform live the night before the game in a concert at AT&T Park, but was not offered the opportunity to play during the game break in San Jose, a snub the band took in stride.
