Springsteen Rocks Jersey shore bar

A hot July night on the Jersey shore got hotter Saturday night (7/18) when Bruce Springsteen staged his first surprise appearance in a long time, joining Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers for a 15 song set heavy on late 70's material from Bruce's catalog.  The scene was the Wonder Bar, a venue Bruce has previously joined Grushecky's band at, so it was little wonder the place was packed.  Bruce emerged a couple of songs into the set.  The band launched into Never Enough Time, followed by Adam Raised A Cain, Darkness On The Edge of Town, and Racing In The Street before heading into less familiar territory... Chain Smoking, Talking To The King, Save My Love, Frankie Fell In Love, Atlantic City, Pumping Iron and Code Of Silnece, before wrapping things up and bringing down the house with after midnight versions of Because The Night, The Promised Land, Pink Cadillac and Light Of Day, which he dedicated to fans evesdropping on the show from outside.
