You would think that having been in a band with as many ill-fated members as Lynyrd Skynyrd would make any surviving member hesitant about tempting fate, so it was sad to learn that founding drummer Bob Burns was apparently driving without a seatbelt fastened when the car he was in left a Georgia road and struck a mailbox and then a tree on Friday night (4/3) killing the 64 year old. Burns played drums on the first two Skynyrd albums before leaving the group in 1974.
