Cream bassist Jack Bruce dies

Liver cancer has silenced the voice of one of Rock's most distinctive vocalists.  Jack Bruce, bass player in Cream, the power trio comprised of Bruce, guitar great Eric Clapton and flamboyant drummer Ginger Baker, died with family bu his side in his Suffolk home, accorfding to a BBC report.  The musician's web site confirms his death.  Liver cancer claimed Bruce, says the Herald.  Bruce and Eric Clapton met while together briefly in John Mayall's Blues Breakers.  The pair teamed with drummer Ginger Baker to form Cream in 966.  Together just three years, the group produced four albums and is credited as being one of the great trios of all time.  Constant bickering between Bruce and Baker was set aside just a couple of times in recent decades for reunion concerts.  The group played London and New York in 2005.  Cream was inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame in 1993.
