Allman Brothers open final concert run

The Allman Brothers Band will do their final series of live concerts without any special guests sitting in.  Speaking with Relix, Gregg Allman revealed that a group meeting about the last six concerts of the legendary band's multi-decade run produced a concenses that the Beacon Theatre residency should not include any special guests.  Past years have produced a long list of special guests sharing the spotlight with the group during its annual run of New York City shows. Asked whether former guitarist Dickey Betts might be an exception, Allman said, 'Dickey is in the middle of a hunting trip. Of course we reached out.'  While the group has not closed the door on ever playing together again, the October 28 set on the Beacon stage will apparently be the last regular tour date the Southern Rock musical institution will play.
