Jeff Beck will be out of action for six weeks after undergoing a hospital procedure to deal with an unspecified medical problem.  The guitarist has had acute back trouble in the past.  Beck still anticipates being able to tour the U.S. during the tail end of the summer, but the recovery period has forced him to cancel concerts in Europe.  Posts from representatives on his online sites expressed the guitar great's '...greatest regret' over the need to pull the plug on those dates, adding that Beck '...sends his profound apologies tot hose fans that had bought tickets', and that he, '...very much looks forward to playing for audiences after he has completed his treatment.'
