David Crosby was born on this day in 1941 in Los Angeles. The future Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash founding member who also went on to record 8 solo albums was outspoken, brash and had numerous run-ins with band mates and authorities on weapons and drugs charges. But he was also a very gifted singer, songwriter and musician that came to be widely considered musical genius. Crosby is among the relatively few musicians inducted by the Rock Hall of Fame twice - as a Byrds member in 1991 and with CSN in 1997.
