A night of revelry in Austin, Texas ended in chaos and tragedy when South By Southwest Festival goers gathered near a club called The Mohawk found themselves in the path of a car being chased by the police shortly after midnight Thursday morning (3/13). The vehicle struck and killed two people and nearly two dozen more were transported to hospitals, five of the injuries were classified as critical. The driver of the Toyota was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction on a one-way street while being pursued for suspicion of drunk driving. The car struck a number of people after crashing through a barricade before plowing into a moped, killing the rider and his passenger. It then careened into a taxi and a van before coming to a stop. The driver of the Toyota jumped from the car in an attempt to evade capture but was Tasered by police and taken into custody. He is expected to face murder charges.
