Styx Sics Lawyers on A&M Records

Members of Styx have initiated legal action under a corporation that represents its interests against A&M Records, the label that the group was on for decades.  According to TMZ, the lawsuit contends that A&M withheld substantial payments due the group on revenue from the sale of digital downloads of songs and ringtones.  The language of the suit suggests intent to defraud rather than just an oversight, calling the action of the label a, 'phony business model' concocted to '...avoid its royalty obligations.'  The group maintains it has been short changed to the tune of between two and five dollars for every one dollar it has been paid by the label. If true, it adds up to plenty of Pieces of Eight.
