The former Capricorn Records offices and studios in Macon, Georgia have been shuttered several years and the tawny townhouses recently sprouting up right behind the building made it seem likely it would get torn down soon to make room for more. But good news came in the nick of time when funding was announced this week to restore the building where so many legendary Southern Rock artists recorded. 
The comprehensive plan will preserve the site and transform the building into a museum with restored equipment and memorabilia tied to the artists and the albums they recorded within its walls.
