Eric Clapton says that he is going deaf due to persistent tinnitus, a affliction that often results from prolonged exposure to high volume sound. That and continuing pain related to peripheral neuropathy, an ailment that triggers sharp pain in the lower back and legs and nerve problems with his hands, has curtailed his touring. The legendary guitarits has just a few performances planned for 2018. Speaking with BBC Radio 2, Clapton said, 'A am hoping that people will come along and see me...' adding, 'I am a curiosity, I know that is part of it, because it's amazing to myself that I'm still here.'
