Michael Anthony used his Instagram account to tip Van Halen fans that a documentary about the group is in production. The former bass player for VH wrote "Filmed an interview today for a Van Halen documentary in the works. Brought up many great memories". Anthony exited the group in 2004 and teamed with fellow VH exile Sammy Hagar in Chickenfoot and The Red Rocker's most recent band, The Circle. Anthony has left the door open to touring with Van Halen. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the band's debut album, but no tour plans have been revealed by the group.
