While in Dallas to open the US leg of the Joshua Tree tour, Bono darted to Crawford, Texas Friday (5/26) to spend some time with George W. Bush. The U2 front man and the former Oval Office occupant got together the Bush ranch to talk about their shared efforts to stem AIDS through the former President's PEPFAR program (President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Releif), an initiative Bono is concerned might have a good deal of its effectiveness compromised if international aid spending cuts in the proposed budget go through. Bono tweeted his appreciation to the former Chief Exec. Bush took to his Twitter account with a photo of the two captioned, "Bono is the real deal. He has a huge heart and a selfless soul, not to mention a decent voice."
