J. Geils Band Back Together Without Geils

The J. Geils Band, the Boston based Rock & Blues group that roared onto the scene with an electrifying debut album in 1971 has gotten together a few times in recent years to rave reviews and calls for them to tour and record.  Peter Wolf, Magic Dick, Seth Justman and Danny Klein are all onboard, but an awkward situation involving John Geils could mean that the band with his name will be going out without him - and could possibly be forced to come up with a new name.  The problem stems from issues between the band and John Geils' solo record label Francesca Records, which reportedly feels it has rights to the name The J. Geils Band. With or without Geils, the core of the group will have the added firepower of the Uptown Horns with them on the upcoming tour. As for a new name... we vote for The Wolf Pack.
