Dickey Betts Sits-In With Furthur

Allman Brothers veteran Dickey Betts hasn't gotten much love from his former band in a long, long time, but the southern guitar great has been a welcome guest performer with Phil Lesh & Friends in recent years, and Saturday (6/30) made his first appearance with Furthur, the band that reunited Lesh with Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir.  The setting was Terrapin Crossroads, the performance space Lesh recently opened a few miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Betts, straight off a gig at the Marin County Fair a couple of exits north on Rt. 101, joined Furthur on Viola Lee Blues, Caution: Do Not Stop on the Tracks and the Allman Brothers classic, Blue Sky.
No video has turned-up yet from the Terrapin set (could be that Phil is less welcome to fans recording in his own place than he has been over the years at other venues), but we did find one of Dickey  with his own band doing Ramblin' Man at the night's earlier gig.
