Neil Young spent his birthday over the weekend providing musical support to protesters engaged in a standoff against the company seeking to construct a portion of a pipeline across sacred Indian land in North Dakota. Young, who turned 71 on Saturday (11/12), strolled through the encampment of people putting up resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline in Standing Rock. Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt have booked a concert in a nearby community to raise money to support the attempt to prevent the pipeline from crossing land the Indian nation considers sacred. Dave Matthews, Tim Reynolds and Neko Case will stage a Washington DC concert November 27th for the cause in Constitution Hall.
