The sale of a single work of art from Eric Clapton's personal collection could bring a top bid in the neighborhood of $20 million when Christies puts it up for bids on November 15. The textured oil work titled Abstract Painting by Gerhard Richter was one of a trio of paintings by the German artists that EC acquired in 2001. One sold by him four years ago brought $34 million, Another went for just over $20 million in 2012. A Richter painting set a record for the highest price ever paid for a living European artist's work when one of his canvasses sold for $46.3 million in 1986.
