An evening featuring one of the most impressive line-ups to ever come together to perform in tribute to a fallen musician gathered at the Apollo Theater in New York City Friday night (2/24).  Howlin' for Hubert, a concert organized to celebrate the life and music of Hubert Sumlin, a fixture in Howlin' Wolf's band that died in early December, put Keith Richards and Eric Clapton on stage together on versions of Going Down Slow, Little Red Rooster and Spoonful.  Richards clearly enjoyed being back out in front of an appreciative crowd, at one point exclaiming, 'God damn, it's good to be back.'  The night also saw Clapton team with harp master James Cotton on an acoustic run through Key To The Highway, along with performances from Jimmy Vaughan, Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, Elvis Costello and Allman Brothers Band mates Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks backed by a band that included legendary session players Jim Keltner, Steve Jordan, Willie Weeks, plus Ivan Neville.
