Bealtles Considered Pyramid Concert

On the 43d anniversary of the date the Beatles played in public for the last time, Ringo Starr revealed that the band had given though to a much grander exit than the casual three song set they delivered on the London rooftop.  He says that the four members of the group and Billy Preston kicked around the idea of staging a farewell concert at the base of one of the pyramids (something the Grateful Dead would do in September of 1978) or in the shadow of a volcano in Hawaii.  In the end, as he put it, they decided, 'Sod it, just do it on the roof', a decision that brought a portion of London to a complete stand still and created an iconic Rock event.
