Just as its northern and international counterparts have done, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has continued expanding the scope of the music it offers.  Following the lead of Newport and Montreaux, the NOLA event has added acts less traditionally associated with the type of artists and fans the event formerly targeted.  While there will still be plenty of Jazz, Cajun, Zydeco and other music forms closely associated with the host region, the 2012 lineup will once again bring in acts with little or no direct connection to those forms of music. This year Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, the Eagles and the Foo Fighters will join the party on the bayou April 27-29 and May 3-6.
