George Green is not a name many fans of John Mellencamp would recognize.  But the lyrics he came up with are well known to all of them.  Green wrote the words for Hurts So Good, Rain On The Scarecrow and Crumblin' Down.  The life-long friend of Mellencamp grew-up with John in Seymour, Indiana and also penned lyrics to songs recorded by Hall & Oates and country star Ricky Scaggs.  Green's wife reported that her 59 year-old husband passed away from an aggressive form of lung cancer.
