Tough Going For Two U2 Projects

The well publicized complications that have plagued the Broadway production of the Spider-Man musical that Bono and The Edge wrote the score for are not the only things complicating the life of the U2 guitarist.  An equally frustrating process has again delayed ground breaking on a building project The Edge has been trying to get approval for near Malibu, California (story).  The California Coastal Commission issued a ruling Friday (1/28) that contends that the guitarist's plans for a 156 acre tract on a hillside overlooking the Pacific runs afoul of several state environmental requirements.  The ruling leaves prospects for his Leaves In The Wind project, one the U2 member has tried to pitch as being green, looking pretty dim.  A strategy to break the proposal to build five luxury home into five separate applications seems to have back fired.
