It turns out that Penny Lancaster is not the only model that Rod Stewart is crazy about. Stewart apparently is such a model railroad fanatic that he insists on a backstage platform large enough for him to lay parts out on so he can assemble train cars and engines. Rod tells Model Railroader magazine that drinking before small-scale building is no more advisable than drinking before engineering the real thing down the tracks would be, saying, 'I can't build after a couple of glasses of wine - the results are never good.' A nearly 1,500 square foot model railroad layout occupies the third floor of the Beverly Hills home he, Lancaster and their soon-to-be born child live in. Trains are a passion Neil Young also has. Young once owned a significant chunk of the Lionel Train company.
