Skynyrd's guitarist undergoes heart surgery

The decision to postpone Lynyrd Skynyrd dates (story) so that guitarist Gary Rossington could be treated for chest pains he was experiencing was wise.  The guitarist flew to Atlanta for an evaluation by doctors who discovered he needed surgery to address artery blockages.  The sole remaining original member in the band had a bypass procedure in 2003 and suffered a heart attack last October that nearly claimed his life.  Hopes are he will be ready to resume playing as soon as August 4th.  Skynyrd has a round of dates scheduled with Peter Frampton into the fall.
