Keith Emerson reveals that faced several health issues recently.  The rough patch began for the Emerson, Lake & Palmer keyboard veteran when a colonoscopy turned up a dangerous polyp.  Surgery to address that revealed that a big portion of his colon showed evidence of diverticular disease.  A sizeable portion of the lower colon was removed.  Internal bleeding in the aftermath of the surgery created more complications for Emerson, resulting in two blood transfusions and another operation.  Emerson finally got some good news when doctors told him tests on the polyp showed it was not malignant.  His two week hospital stay over, Keith says on his Facebook page that he is recuperating at home with a fresh understanding of the importance of regular colon screening - and a great appreciation for blood donors.
