Glastonbury Sells Out

180,000 tickets for the 2010 Glastonbury Festival sold in two hours 6 months ago - before a single act had been announced (story).  The remaining tickets, priced around $270, were gone just over an hour after going on sale Sunday (4/11).  The June 25-27 event headlined by U2 also includes Jackson Browne, Ray Davies,  and Stevie Wonder in its lineup of hundreds of musicians.  First held in 1970 and '71, the Glastonbury Festival did not resume as an annual event until 1978.  It now encompasses a wade range of performing arts presented on close to  dozen stages on the 900 acre site. Organizers were recently granted an extension to continue holding the festival at the farm in southwestern England through 2016.
