The ridiculously protracted process of putting Chineese Democracy out created expectations that would have made it tough for even a great album to measure up to.  As it is, nobody has made the case that the Guns N' Roses album was worth any wait.   The band, which the lead singer is the only original member of, has been kept largely out of the public eye in North America.  Thursday (2/11) GNR made an unscheduled appearance at John Varvato's, a designer fashion store-sometimes club in New York City that occupies the space that once housed CBGB, the legendary punk venue.  The performance was more than the kind of cameo bands sometimes do during Fashion Week in the City, a blistering 17 song set.
