Hopes for a Better Hendrix Park

Plans to convert the small childhood home Jimi Hendrix grew up in failed to come together fast enough to save the small bungalow, but another group now hopes to make improvements to a Seattle park dedicated to the guitar great.  The Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park held an open house in a former school building adjacent to the site Thursday (1/28) to review a conceptual plan for expanding the park, and to solicit input and dollars from people interested in making the space a more fitting tribute to Hendrix.  The group is optimistic that a statue of Hendrix, now located on Capitol Hill in the city, can be relocated to the park, which is in the neighborhood the legendary guitarist was raised in.
