The global telethon to raise funds for earthquake devastated areas of Haiti aired on multiple US networks Friday (1/22). Bruce Springsteen did a rendition of We Shall Overcome from New York. Bono and the Edge of U2 joined Rhinna and Jay Z in London on Stranded. Sting, backed by The Roots, did Driven To Tears and Neil Young, fresh from taping the last Tonight Show hosted by Conan O'Brien, teamed with Dave Matthews for a version of the Hank Williams song Alone And Forgotten. Hope For Haiti used the collective reach of the MTV family of channels and ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, HBO and CMT in the US for the 2 hour special.
