Guitar master Jeff Beck follows-up his North American concert dates with Eric Clapton (story) with the release of Emotion & Commotion, his first studio album of new material in 7 years.  The April 13 release covers a wide range of styles, including some tracks that have the guitar virtuoso backed  by a 64 piece orchestra.  Don't take the addition of strings to mean Beck is backing away from Rock.  He says the orchestra was brought in because he liked the idea of '...bringing together these seemingly contradictory sounds on different kinds of non-classical music.'  After the three dates that combine the talents of the two former Yardbirds guitarists, Beck is off to South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and Japan.  He opens a US tour at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival May 1.
