Detroit auto makers hava a lot to prove in 2010. The industry as a whole has to put the brakes on eroding market share, and everyone but Ford, which took no bailout money, has to make their case that the money was well spent. One guy who probably does not need convincing was at the Detroit Auto Show Monday (1/11). Bob Seger, who has owned several of the best muscle cars to ever roll off Detroit assembly lines, was especially drawn to the high performance display of SMS Supercars, a company operated by one-time Indy driver Steve Saleen that specializes in boosting the performance specs of cars produced by the Big Three. Saleen, who like every gear-head his age likes Seger, said Bob wants to check out the new Camaro he is working on.
