The Spots Illustrated web site is claiming that the Who will be the headline band at the Super Bowl in Miami in February. If Townshend, Daltrey & company are a lock for the showcase it contradicts earlier indications from Dolphins owner Stephen Ross that Jimmy Buffett could get the gig. Buffett and Ross are said to be close, and the Dolphins struck a business deal that awarded stadium naming rights to Landshark, the beer brand of the singer's Margaritaville enterprises. The ultimate decision on who performs at halftime is up to the NFL, which has declined to comment on the report. The game is scheduled for Feb. 7.
