Dublin promoter hit with U2 noise fine

Controversy over how loud U2 was when the band played its home town in July was not limited to the decibel levels of the band itself.  Dublin residents were so riled up over the noise generated while crews spent days before and after the show building and striking the massive stage that some blocked trucks transporting the stage to its next show in protest.  The Dublin City Council has now hit the promoter with a nearly $60,000 fine for allowing the band to exceed noise limits.  The ruling identifies 12 violations over the course of the 3 Croke Park concerts, each carrying a fine.
