Paul Stanley & Ace Frehley collaborate

Ace Frehley releases Orgins Vol 1 on April 15, a solo album that features the former KISS guitarist doing covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Thin Lizzy, the Stones and other groups that helped shape him as a musician.  Frehley recruited Paul Stanley to do the vocal on Fire and Water, a song recorded by Paul Rogers with his pre Bad Company band, Free.  It marks the first time almost 20 years the former KISS band mates have collaborated on a song, although they were not in the studio together.   Rolling Stone reports that Frehley sent Stanley the instrumental version of the song and Stanley recorded his vocal in another studio last month.  Frehley loved the job Stanley did, calling his vocal 'fabulous'.  As for the frequently mentioned friction between him and Stanley, Frehley insists, 'We've always been friends.  The press seems to amplify the negativity.'
