Former REO Speedwagon guitarist passes

The guitarist for REO Speedwagon from 1970-1989 has died.  Gary Richrath was honored by Kevin Cronin on the lead singer and band's Facebook page in a post that read, in part, 'The entire REO family mourns his death and shares in the grief of his family, friends and fans.  These words do not come close to expressing the depth of emotions I am feeling at this time.'  The drummer in Richrath's solo band, Tim Fiers, expressed his condolences, calling Richrath '... one of the greatest guitarists the state of Illinois has produced.'  No cause of death was provided for Richrath, who Cronin called '...both a unique guitarist and songwriter, and the embodiment of the tough guy with a heart of gold. I learned most of what I know about being in a rock band from Gary Richrath.'
