Keith Richards dishes on rap & heavy metal

In a conversation with the Daily News Keith Richards, a musician that seldom hesitates to filter any response, attributed rap music's popularity to '...tone deaf people' craving only a '...drum beat and someone yelling over it.'  The Rolling Stones guitarist wasn't much kinder toward heavy metal bands, saying he thought Metallica and Black Sabbath were just great jokes.  Like Donald Trump, Richards, who is granting interviews to promote his first solo album in nearly 25 years, knows that one sure way to generate attention and coverage is to make headline generating remarks.  He did not spare Mick Jagger from a few pointed barbs either.  Richards said his front man is, '...preoccupied with something really boring', and added, '...he's a hell of a front man,' and, ' I love him dearly'.
