Sponge Bob Squarepants will debut on Broadway next year with a score that includes songs written for it by Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and David Bowie.  Director Tina Landau says that getting the songs from some of Rock's biggest artists wasn't that difficult because they're fans of the character. Others serving up songs for the SpongeBob production include Cyndi Lauper, Flaming Lips, They Might Be Giants, John Legend and Lady Antebellum. Preview performances of the musical are slated to open June 7 in Chicago's Oriental Theatre and run for about a month before audiences in New York get the chance to soak it up.
