It's not just the anesthesiologist that thinks being comfortably numb is important during surgery. It turns out a lot of surgeons operate while listening to the track from The Wall. The title from the Pink Floyd double album is among the ones on the recommended list following a survey conducted by the Cardiff University Hospital in the UK. The study found that 4 of every 5 operations are done to a soundtrack and a large percentage of surgeons have Comfortably Numb in the mix. Others getting a thumbs-up for OR play include the Bee Gees Stayin' Alive, Smooth Operator by Sade and Coldplay's Fix You. Ones to avoid?: Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, Dylan's Knockin' On Heaven's Door and Everybody Hurts from REM.
