Geoff Tate's acrimonious departure from Queensryche triggered a series of allegations and a lawsuit between the band and its lead singer that got resolved in an out-of-court settlement that cleared the way for him to continue using the name of the band himself while the rest of the group did the same.  Tate's Queensryche tour is winding down. His new band takes its name from a 1988 Queensryche album. Operation Mindcrime will enter the studio in the coming weeks to start work on a debut concept album.
