David Gilmour
Live In Gdansk

The death of Rick Wright
probably further reduces what slim chance remained that David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Nick Mason will ever record or perform together again.  Thankfully, David Gilmour included Wright on this performance. The selection of Pink Floyd songs performed during this concert was clearly influenced by Wright's participation.
"Speak To Me" "Breathe" "Time" "Wish You Were Here" and the tribute to Syd Barrett, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" were to be expected, and are all done superbly.  But Barrett's "Astronomy Domine" and the full 25 minutes of "Echos" make this collection quite special.  Also included are all 10 songs from Gilmour's third solo recording "On An Island".
A good deal of credit also goes to Phil Manzanara, who co-produced in addition to playing guitar.  He and Gilmour manage to finesse just the right contribution from the 40 member Baltic Symphony Orchestra.
The package is available in a dizzying number of configurations, including a full box set, 2 CD 2 DVD, or 2 CD 1 DVD.
